Green Mohair Suits return with ‘Hell or High Water’, the first single from their fifth album Stan Wella, out September 27th. Green Mohair Suits (Brian Campeau, Richard Cuthbert, Jason Mannell, and Ben Romalis) hold a reputation for inspired showmanship and performances as brash as they are emotive.
After an attempt to record Stan Wella during Covid didn’t pan out, the group did what always works best for them: “The four of us together in a dedicated space, focused on finishing and recording the album,” explains Cuthbert. “In July of 2023 we motivated and spurred each other on throughout the process. This productive retreat took place at an Airbnb in Stanwell Park, a sleepy coastal village and northern suburb of Wollongong.”
The first single from the new album ‘Hell Or High Water’ drifts along melodiously, draped in slow motion country and heartbreaking folk-rock. Bathed in reverb, the song reveals its narrative like a classic novel, with rich harmonies and a compelling chorus elevating the song into something truly special.
