Jesse Mac Cormack announces a brand-new EP GRIP, to be released November 25th. He also shares a new single from the EP, ‘La Vérité’ featuring both Toronto’s singer-songwriter Charlie Houston and French artist BRÖ.
‘La Vérité’ is of a virtual quality, it asks you to feel it all for a last time with an invasive and up-tempo melody. The project is entrenched with memory while always stringing you forward into an effortless ebb. Looking to get out or go in deep, the two desires collide, and the tracks become a liminal ground capable of holding both desires.
Jesse explains that the lyrics “Je ne veux plus rien faire d’autre que te voir” encapsulate the dual sensation of intense fusion and vertigo at the start of a relationship. This declaration reflects a profound desire and complete focus on being with that special person, accompanied by a whirlwind of emotions.
GRIP emanates the highs and lows that have come with all his recent realisations on self-growth inside a heartbreak. Turning his turmoil into fleshed out soundscapes, the physical and metaphorical grip we can have on one another is steeped in his musical universe.
