Following the frazzled freakbeat of 2016’s Nonagon Infinity LP, the magical mayhem of the national Gizzfest tour and their last loud summer lap on Laneway Festival it is very fitting that the endlessly inventive rock ‘n’ roll septet, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, do Australian exclusive hometown launches for the new LP Flying Microtonal Banana. Out Friday 24th February via Flightless / Remote Control, it is the band’s ninth studio album in five years, and the first of five to be recorded and released in 2017.
These special Melbourne only shows include an all ages/U-18 show and will be their last Australian dates before heading off to Europe, Canada and the USA to do various great live things including Coachella, Primavera and headline shows.
As well as being in 360 degree, in-the-round format, the Flying Microtonal Banana launches will have multiple banana related benefits and each show will feature 2 full Gizzard sets – one new album set and one classic.
