The Smith Street Band return with ‘This Is It’ – the first single from their forthcoming seventh album. Dripping in the emotional honesty the band have come to be known for, the new track might just be their most vulnerable release to date. The new release comes with accompanying video clip, shot and edited by long time collaborator Nick Manuell, with Greg Rietwyk.

‘This Is It’ is a song about identity, inertia, and the uneasy feeling that even when you have everything you hoped for, it might not feel like enough. It opens with frontman Wil Wagner soaked in self-doubt, and unfolds into a powerful chorus that captures the push-pull of contentment and craving: “This is us and I am yours / This is everything I hoped for / But I’m still f*cked and I’m still bored / If this is it, why do I want more?”

Recorded at the bands own Bush House Studios, a solar powered studio in regional Victoria, ‘This Is It’ is out now. Lead singer Wil Wagner says “This Is It is a song about coming to terms with who you are, what you’ve done and what you’re doing next”.

In 2024 The Smith Street Band celebrated their 15th year as a band. From their breakout 2012 album Sunshine and Technology to the #1 ARIA Chart of 2020’s Don’t Waste Your Anger, the promised forthcoming album follows on from 2022’s Life After Football.

The Smith Street Band also announce a national tour which will see the band visit each state in the country. Joined by friends Bad Neighbour who recently released their debut album Millions and have been busy touring with bands like Tiny Moving Parts, Badflower and Sweet Pill.
