Process is a film about London musician Sampha by Kahlil Joseph (Pulse Films). Now available exclusively on Apple Music. The 37 minute film is a rich, widescreen visual contextualisation of Sampha’s acclaimed 2017 debut album of the same name.
Process was filmed in January 2017 between Freetown, Sierra Leone and Morden, south London. Both places have deep personal significance for Sampha, Freetown being the hometown of Sampha’s parent’s (and the city where many of the Sisay family still reside), while Morden is the outer London suburb that Sampha grew up in after his parents relocated to the UK.
Speaking about Process, Sampha says “It’s been a genuine pleasure collaborating with Khalil on this film. He has such a unique visual language and has found such a beautiful way to tell this story.”
