Following ‘I Want’ and their explosive follow-up ‘Pressure Inside’, New York punk trio B Boys have shared their new single & video ‘Instant Pace’ – taken from their second album Dudu out Friday 26 July via Captured Tracks.
As premiered by Talkhouse, directors Jon Campolo and Josie Keefe explain “We were inspired by drummer Andrew Kerr’s introspective & candid photographs that document B Boys’ tours. His behind the scenes photos show the band goofing off, setting up, and blowing off steam – mostly offstage. We manipulated Kerr’s photographs by painting, cutting and tearing them, riffing on Rauschenbergian collage, stop motion, the hand choreography of Sole Mani, and John Baldessari’s paintings. The effect is manic, mirroring the nostalgic energy of ‘Instant Pace.’ The band members faces are obscured and transformed into a painted world of devils, aliens and smileys. Who’s who??”
North Carolina-based producer Cubby, resident at b4, has shared a new single ‘Bing‘ which features vocals from LA-based electro-pop artist Madge.
Their third collab following ‘Falling’ and Cubby’s remix of Madge’s track ‘Fight or Flight Club,’ the track continues their ability to build duality within their songs. High-octane, pounding production, and understated angelic vocals from Madge.
The visual, co-directed by Hudson Hower and Cubby himself, find the pair struggling with an old dirt bike in a barren junkyard, only to bring it to life.
