Becca Mancari releases new album The Greatest Part

Becca Mancari releases her new album The Greatest Part via Captured Tracks, her first project with the label. The deeply personal album navigates the tender crevices of Nashville-based Mancari’s origins, greeting past traumas head on with vivid, unflinching melodies and Becca’s crystalline voice. The album has already earned high praise from Rolling Stone, NPR and GRAMMY.com, who call Mancari one of Nashville’s “most audacious pop stars” alongside Hayley Williams and Brittany Howard. The album includes recently released singles ‘Hunter,’ ‘First Time’ and ‘Lonely Boy.’

To celebrate the album’s release, Becca will perform a livestreamed convert from Grimeys in Nashville tomorrow at 9.30am AEST via Becca’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Both Natalie Prass and Julien Baker will join Becca on stage to sit in on the performance of new songs from The Greatest Part.

Mancari says of The Greatest Part,

I started writing The Greatest Part at the end of 2018. I was completely exhausted from non-stop touring for over two years and I was struggling to find a vision for the future. I was basically at my rock bottom, but just before the point of breaking, something happened. Melodies and words started coming to me out of nowhere, as if these new songs were given to me. I started to notice that I hadn’t really told my story of coming out yet, or grieved this experience in my life, and I think for a lot of people who have experienced trauma when they were young only know how to survive day by day. This record is about not running from the past anymore, and it’s about having the courage to step out into the bright and beautifully unknown future. Instead of all the heaviness and pain, the greatest part of life is actually living it, and being able to have joy and grief holding your hand at the same time and living through it to see another day.”
