On October 22nd, Courtney Barnett performed a unique live show in Melbourne called MTV Unplugged (Live in Melbourne) at the invitation of MTV Australia. A stripped back, vulnerable and emotional performance of eight tracks, including an original track from Barnett herself titled ‘Play It On Repeat‘, is available now digitally via Milk! Records / Remote Control Records.
Joined by her usual band Dave Mudie and Bones Sloane, she also enlisted cellist Lucy Waldron, legendary songwriter Paul Kelly, angelically-voiced New Zealander Marlon Williams and Milk! Records label-mate Evelyn Ida Morris. Performances included covers of Leonard Cohen, Archie Roach, Seeker Lover Keeper, as well as a never-before-heard original track from Barnett herself titled ‘Play It On Repeat’.
