Hachiku are excited to finally announce a tour of Victoria and New South Wales to celebrate the release of their acclaimed debut album I’ll Probably Be Asleep. The tour includes Melbourne album launches as part of the Brunswick Music Festival (the first of which is already sold out) as well as reaching many regional areas – tickets are available now here.
To celebrate the tour announcement, Hachiku have released a live video for album favourite ‘Busy Being Boring‘. The video is part of the Live in the Forest performance that was originally screened on New York’s BabyTV in December. The full length performance, which was directed by Melbourne and long term Hachiku collaborator Marcelle Bradbeer, will be released in full on YouTube on March 10th.
Hachiku band-leader Anika Ostendorf says of Live in the Forest performance, “Releasing our debut album last November in the middle of a global pandemic meant that for obvious reasons we weren’t able to play a launch show full of sweaty people, soaked in beer, crowd surfing their way through venues. Instead we opted for the calming alternative – set up our instruments in a forest and play our songs to the birds, platypus and definitely a couple of snakes. Even our guitarist Georgia managed to make an appearance via satellite TV. We are pretty excited and grateful that we do get to play some real life shows after all and can’t wait to experience a socially distanced mosh pit.”
