With just over a week until Jarrow’s second album Expensive Hugs is out in the world, the band share their rousing new single ‘Bleach’ and announce a run of headline shows. Watch the video to ‘Bleach’ below!
Self-guided therapy through garage rock, that’s ‘Bleach’, the third single from Expensive Hugs. All riffs, melody and noise, the song moves at breakneck speed as Jarrow sings of strange childhood memories before finding catharsis and solace from an insane guitar solo. Total psychological resolution in 3 and a half minutes.
Jarrow (Dan Oke) is Footscray’s favourite self-taught, self-produced, garage-pop multi-instrumentalist and Expensive Hugs reveals the immense pleasure that he takes from experimentation in the studio.
Drawing inspiration equally from 21st century meme culture and classic 90’s indie-rock, Expensive Hugs is an immensely enjoyable dash through Oke’s world of pop-hooks, weird soundscapes and riff-jams. Out on Friday 16 March, and available for a limited time on amazing translucent purple splatter vinyl here.
Having just smashed their Melbourne residency (and supported the Libertines!) Jarrow has announced a run of east coast shows in support of his album. Further details below.
