Melbourne’s Jess Ribeiro shares a new single ‘Dylan‘ ahead of the release of her new album LOVE HATE, out Friday 12 April, via Barely Dressed.
Opening with a hypnotic chorus spelling out “L. O. V. E. H. A. T. E.” the song descends into a purred verse which dissects the nuances and disappointments of former relationships.
On its surface, Dylan is a song about trying to be friends after breaking up with someone – “you can’t make me come over for coffee when you’re feeling torn” and “you can’t make me calm, you can’t mend this, you can’t mend me” but as is always the case with Ribeiro, there’s more to it…
