Listen: Fat Freddy’s Drop – ‘Trickle Down’

Getting high on hope, New Zealand juggernaut Fat Freddy’s Drop release their new single ‘Trickle Down’, out now digitally, with a 12” release to follow later this spring. Listen below!

The electronic-driven single is a reaction to the politics of the day – the false economic principle of wealth trickling down from the 1% to the 99%. As they sing of running out of patience while waiting for the rain to fall, a confident, steady beat propels us forward as a sign of promise.

Recorded at the band’s BAYS studio in their hometown Wellington, the track arose from a series of jams. It is a slice of the new album they’re cooking up as a follow-up to their earlier releases BAYS, Blackbird, Dr Boondigga, The Big BW and record breaking Based on a True Story.

Freddy’s annual roady to Europe and UK in 2018 starts in August, including a headline show at 10,000 strong Zitadelle in Spandau, Berlin. In October / November Freddy’s are dropping eighteen of their biggest headline shows. Keep your eyes peeled for Australian dates coming soon.
