Josienne & Ben have also just been nominated in the ‘Best Duo’ category at this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The Awards will take place on 5th April at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The fifth time they have been nominated for awards in various categories since 2014, including winning the ‘Best Duo’ award in 2015.
Overnight features panoramic orchestration by an eclectic core of acclaimed musicians, including strings, horns, piano, double bass, and drums. All tracks were recorded almost entirely live at Rockfield Studios in Wales – the record serves as a snapshot of the endless cycle of night into day and back again, morning light, into dusk, into black midnight, into greying dawn, and on, and on.
