2023 is set to be a transformative year for 18-year-old Dillon Van Rensburg aka singer-songwriter and producer not dvr. Following an update to his artist moniker and on the verge of a move to London from his North Berwick hometown, not dvr returns to release his first new music in over a year. Recorded in his bedroom studio, ’emptyhouse’ is a pitch-perfect example of the kind of raw, intimate song-writing and production that’s seen not dvr build a genuinely global audience. It’s also the first in a series of forthcoming not dvr releases that will mark a more prolific musical output over the coming months.
’emptyhouse’ is set to build on the success of 2022’s acclaimed dirty tapes EP, a release that presented a full-circle moment for a musician who went from DIY bedroom producer to an artist collaborating with Kenny Beats in just over a year.
