Romy’s 2022 single ‘Strong’ is undoubtedly one of the year’s biggest anthems. It’s the latest in a run of collaborations with UK producer Fred again.. (including their ‘Lights Out’ single with HAAi, and Romy’s Fred-produced debut solo single ‘Lifetime’) and was first teased by the pair in summer 2022; Romy via a run of club and festival DJ appearances and Fred via his much talked about Boiler Room performance back in July. The pair would round off the year on stage together, performing the song live for the first time during Fred’s run of sold out headline shows in Amsterdam and London. That momentum has built into 2023 with ‘Strong’ still sitting on playlists around the world (including the A-list at both BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music).
The focus returns firmly to the dancefloor with remixes from two of the most exciting names in global electronic music: Melbourne’s Pretty Girl and the UK’s I. JORDAN. Romy has described her own sound as “emotional music to dance to” and these remixes undoubtedly fit that description with both artists delivering high energy, euphoric and feel-good takes on the track.
