Memphis LK signs to Dot Dash

Proud to announce the news of Memphis LK joining the Dot Dash family! New single ‘Roses‘ was premiered this week on triple j‘s Home & Hosed, and single launch shows have been announced for Sydney and Melbourne.

Roses‘ is spirited bass-pop atop a bed of dystopian electro. It’s an empowering antidote to Australia’s prevalent tall poppy syndrome. Memphis offers, “We’d all just grow so much taller and brighter and stronger and shinier together.”

Its video, directed by her sister Maddy Kelly and Bryce Padovan, unapologetically mirrors all of her loud, bold and extreme versions. Watch the video via the link below.

Raised on strong female figures – soul legends, 90s r&b queens and pop superstars, Memphis fell in sync with electronic music six years ago. Teaching herself Ableton, she eventually began reverse engineering Detroit electro, UKG and breakbeat to fuse her own futurist mutations with song. Debuting live in support of Meshell Ndegeocello at Melbourne Recital Centre, the versatile performing artist-DJ is also part of the Melbourne/Narrm club music massive, twisting parties with the likes of DJ Koze and Ms Boogie.

The first in a series of singles, ‘Roses’ blossoms Memphis LK into a promising Spring 2019 / Summer 2020.
