New Zealand/Aotearoa eight-piece The Black Seeds have released their exciting new single and video, ‘It’s So Real’, alongside the announcement of their upcoming new album Love & Fire – out Friday 17 June via Remote Control Records.
A raw funk masterpiece destined for dancefloors worldwide, ‘It’s So Real’ is The Black Seeds at their party best. Driven by an infectious muted guitar riff and backed by a rock solid bass and drum groove, ‘It’s So Real’ weaves and tantalises. The groove constantly evolves, dropping in and out creating an enticing labyrinth of rhythm and melody with The Black Seeds co-frontman, Barnaby Weir, and his distinct vocals glueing the track together.
Love & Fire is a big slice of Black Seeds love and musical heat. The album journey began in July 2018 with a series of creative sessions that took place in the band’s creative incubator The Surgery in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Here, fresh ideas were spawned from spontaneous jams, demos were aired and rehearsed, and collections of sonic nuggets from soundchecks and rehearsals were mined for inspiration. The result was a huge collection of ideas and song prints that were to be refined over the next 2 years.
