Watch: HANDSOME ‘Royally’

Following the recent announcement of her upcoming EP and companion short film BLAME – out Friday 3 June via Dot Dash Recordings / Remote Control Records – Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist HANDSOME unveils her new single ‘Royally’ and accompanying video serving as the second instalment in a trilogy of videos that together make up the BLAME visual experience. It follows HANDSOME’s latest single ‘Blame’ and Part 1 of the BLAME video trilogy, which is out now. Watch below!

HANDSOME invites you to enter the world of BLAME – where desert grit meets hyper real adventure. Thanks to the AMEX Music Backers Fund, HANDSOME travelled to the middle of Australia to direct and shoot a short film, to be released as a trilogy across the BLAME EP campaign. The first of its calibre from an Independent Australian artist, this mammoth project shows the way HANDSOME lives and breathes through her art and the way her musical strength travels alongside the storytelling medium of film.

While ‘Blame’ and Part 1 explored the cruel corners of shame and fear, new single ‘Royally’ and Part 2 of the BLAME video trilogy is all about sex. HANDSOME shares, “It’s about being intoxicated by someone, but worrying that you’ll fuck it up anyway, so you may as well try and forget them. Hiding from your thoughts that you can’t escape,  I think I have a deep fear that I will ruin every relationship I have. Not self-sabotage but self doubt disguised as egoism. Through this song you watch me crack under the pressure of love, and by the bridge I give in ‘I’ve fallen for you hard, harder than I ever wanted’.
