HAWA’s strong, direct voice set her apart from her peers and established her as a contender for the NYC’s next rap superstar. Now, she releases ‘I’m Safe’ which hears HAWA reunited with producer Tony Seltzer and combines her forceful bars with flexing vocals. The track is accompanied by her first-ever music video, directed by Keenan MacWilliam, watch below!
At 17 years old and still in high school in NYC, HAWA has already achieved more than people twice her age. As a preteen, she was one of the youngest-ever composers for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom she toured the world. But soon HAWA’s insatiable creativity became stifled by the classical world’s stuffy limitations so she broke out and pursued music on her own terms.
‘I’m Safe’ is released on b4, a future-facing label that serves as a home for tomorrow’s most relevant artists. The music on b4 is a reflection of the genre-smashing landscape, where prior categories no longer apply. Recent releases include EVA’s ‘Touch Me’, Velvet Negroni’s ‘First Time’, BC Kingdom’s ‘YUNG STUNNA’, and HAWA’s debut track ‘Might Be’.
