Ed Kuepper adds three albums to his available catalogue of remarkable work, including a brand new double live album. The three albums will be available on Friday 24th July, with new live single ‘Also Sprach The King Of Euro-Disco’ out now digitally. Ed and his band tour nationally through July and August in support of these releases.

The Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper – Live
Recorded at the National Theatre, Melbourne in 2023, on Ed’s first tour focusing on his solo material with a full band for over a decade. A blistering, expansive performance featuring a terrific line up of musicians, including long time drummer Mark Dawson, bassist Peter Oxley (Sunnyboys), keyboardist Alister Spence, and brass arranger Eamon Dilworth. This performance is released for the first time and showcases music from Ed’s 50-year career.

Speaking on this particular live show in 2023, Melbourne luminary Garry Gray shares, “The show is Killer from start to finish, Ed’s sharp sense of humor making it sparkle. “King of Vice”, “Electrical Storm”, “Spartan Rituals”, and “Honey Steel’s Gold” – driving pulsating beat that doesn’t let go. All these songs sound vibrant and alive with the purity of the album sound as a part of the deal. So, the verdict, having kicked off with the dawn of time and speaking of fine and legendary works that no one needs any reminder of – no pining for the fjords here – Ed Kuepper is at the height of his powers – NOW.”

“Friends, what can I say…. a snapshot of a special night” – Ed Kuepper

Today Wonder (1990)
Today Wonder was Ed’s fourth solo album, it was recorded by Kuepper and drummer Mark Dawson and features three of Ed’s best-known tunes; ‘Everything I’ve Got Belongs To You’, ‘Horse Underwater’ and ‘Eternally Yours’. The album has been long out of print on vinyl and CD and has never been available on the streaming services. The CD comes with seven bonus live tracks from a contemporaneous radio session in Holland.

“I felt like I was breaking a pattern of working with this LP. After several years of playing tight arrangements night after night, I wanted to find something different in the way I was playing and writing. Something more open to spontaneous interpretation basically.“  – Ed Kuepper

The Aints! – Autocannibalism (1992)
The Aints is a band name used on occasions by Ed Kuepper during his prolific early 1990s period. The name relates to Kuepper’s first recording group, The Saints. Australian music historian Ian McFarlane said of the band during this period, “With blistering, guitar-heavy tracks, these albums were the antithesis of Kuepper’s solo work.” Autocannibalism has never been available on vinyl before and the CD edition comes with a bonus disk capturing the band live in Melbourne in 1990. The album will also be available on the streaming services for the first time.

“In a way, The Aints were a reverse/parallel project to Today Wonder. A very similar way of looking at the material, though using different tools garnered a very different sonic outcome. First time ever on vinyl pop pickers… direct from the original tapes” – Ed Kuepper

Brisbane based Kuepper’s work with The Saints in the 70s pre-empted The Clash, The Damned and The Sex Pistols, announcing the advent of punk, (despite Kuepper steadfastly maintaining a cautious distance from that scene.) Through the early 80s he ventured into new musical territory with his post-punk outfit Laughing Clowns.  Fans include Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Guy Picciotto of Fugazi, Bill Callahan and Radio Birdman’s Deniz Tek. Since 1985 Ed Kuepper has released over 20 studio albums under his own name, winning two ARIA Awards along the way.  It’s an unequalled catalogue of work: idiosyncratic, forward-moving, restless and groundbreaking.  Having toured the USA, UK and Europe in 2025 international interest in Ed is high and he returns to tour the UK alongside The Damned later in 2026.
