Everything Is Recorded – the collaborative artist project helmed by Richard Russell – has announced his forthcoming 8AM EP out later this year. To celebrate, Everything Is Recorded has released a new single ‘Carry Me’. Listen below!
‘Carry Me’ features Obongjayar, the Nigerian-born, UK-based newcomer who previously collaborated on Everything Is Recorded By Richard Russell track ‘She Said’. It also features the Bahrain-raised, UK-based trumpeter and composer Yazz Ahmed.
In February 2018 the debut album Everything Is Recorded by Richard Russell was released. Recorded at Russell’s Copper House studio in west London, featuring an international and inter-generational cast of collaborators and musicians, including Sampha, Kamasi Washington, Daman Albarn, Giggs, Ibeyi, Wiki, Green Gartside, Peter Gabriel, Obongjayar and more.
A run of live shows followed. To harness the energy that came out of them, Russell headed straight back into the studio, joined by some of the key Everything Is Recorded live and studio collaborators including Infinite, Mela Murder, Obongjayar, Ibeyi, Sampha and Green Gartside of Scritti Politti.
The result is the six track 8AM EP, a vinyl only release which will be limited to just 500 one-sided (with etched B-side) copies. The EP comes with a fanzine of exclusive photographs from Ed Morris, produced by The Photocopy Club and will be available soon. Russell had previously teased music from the EP via an exclusives-heavy DJ mix for Solid Steel.
