We are taken by Gena’s vocal. It drives this album; a stirring force amidst the pulsing rhythms, with echoes of Mazzy Star and Lynchian undertones. We can’t wait for you to hear it. Or maybe you already have, she played Happy Wanderer and Lochhart Music Festival last year. Otherwise, she’s launching the single in Sydney and Melbourne in May.
At 15, her favourite artist was Little Birdy but fast forward to today and the last album that inspired her was the lost songs of 1970s German artist Siblylle Baier – Colour Green. Willkommen Gena!
