Washington-based alternative soul vocalist and songwriter Marti drops new single ‘Lust’. She’s joined a legion of forward thinking, left of field RnB and electronic artists on 4AD imprint, b4.
After spending her early twenties traveling the world as a model and ingratiating herself into local music and art scenes, Marti became a fixture in downtown NYC and DC nightlife. Her captivating performances led to collaborations with artists including Duckwrth, Kojey Radical and Dev Hynes who invited her to guest on his acclaimed 2018 Blood Orange record Negro Swan. Now, in a confident blend of neo-soul and brooding, gothic R&B, she shares her debut single ‘Lust’. Produced by Jeffery Rashad, the single’s pared-back beat and bass twists and winds around Marti’s smokey vocals. The release of ‘Lust’ follows months of exceptional live performances of the song, including in support of label-mate Velvet Negroni in NYC.
