Pointer Recordings is thrilled to release the new single from Jamaica Moana called ‘HERMIONE’ featuring Temgazi. The Sydney-based artist, rapper, creative director & songwriter of Māori (Ngāpuhi/Tainui) and Samoan descent made her Pointer Recordings debut with fiery new single ‘CYA’ earlier this year.
Speaking on ‘HERMIONE‘ Jamaica shares – “Firstly, Temgazi has been my boo for a decade! We’ve been close friends tied to the hip since we met each other in 2013. Amongst so many people who blend in, Temgazi’s personality drew me to her straight away.
Temgazi would spend most of her lunch breaks in our high school recording studio, so I would just tag along and feel the vibe. I would sneak in after and bluetooth her songs to my Nokia (Haha!). So I went from a friend to a fan all at once. She came to my dance crew audition the week before her XFactor audition. We stayed real connected through her XFactor journey while I was travelling to Vegas with my dance crew. And we’ve been supporting each other ever since! Real lifetime friendship type shit.
I’ve been sitting on ‘HERMIONE‘ for a long time, blessed to once again collaborate with my amazing Uncles, Stereogamous! At our first session, we laid down the whole track straight away.“
