The highly sought-after Steve Angello remix of Basement Jaxx ‘Where’s Your Head At’ is out now. The reimagining of the iconic anthem lands as part of the label’s house bag series, injecting a big bassline energy into one of dance music’s most enduring tracks.
The remix follows Swedish House Mafia’s headline set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, where Angello played the track to a euphoric crowd response.
Speaking on the track, Steve Angello says “Basement Jaxx were a defining part of my youth, this track stayed with me through so many moments and really shaped who I became as an artist. I made a bootleg of it years ago, just out of pure love, so getting the chance to come back to it and release it as an official remix honestly means a lot. Full circle.”
2026 marks a landmark year for Basement Jaxx, as their seminal album Rooty celebrates its 25th anniversary on June 25. ‘Where’s Your Head At’, released as the third single from the album on November 19, quickly became a defining moment of the era, propelled by its unforgettable Traktor-directed video and an unmistakable hook that has echoed across dancefloors worldwide ever since. Its influence continues to ripple through generations, having been reinterpreted and sampled by artists from Chance The Rapper to 100 gecs, whose viral Boiler Room remix was released by XL Recordings in 2023.
