The Lemon Twigs share third single ‘The Fire’ ahead of their musical full-length release, Go To School, out this Friday 17th August, which was written, recorded, produced and mixed by brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario in their home in Long Island. Listen below!
Michael says of the song, “With any musical, you’ve gotta first believe that people breaking into song every five minutes is normal—there are no rules. You’ve gotta believe it in order to enjoy the music and absorb the weight of the lyrics. The ‘why’ is just because it gets you to the next part. It’s supposed to make you feel something. Go To School is not meant to be taken literally outside of the context of the art. It’s what they call a ‘movie for your ears,’ and this scene is called The Fire.”
Go To School tells the coming-of-age story of Shane, a pure of heart chimpanzee raised as a human boy as he comes to terms with the obstacles of life. Todd Rundgren and D’Addario’s mother Susan Hall play Shane’s parents. The album also features contributions from Jody Stephens and their father Ronnie D’Addario. Pre-order Go To School here.
