Sydney-based, Papau New Guinean future-soul artist Ngaiire has been nominated for four ARIA Awards. Announced this morning, Ngaiire and her album 3 are nominated for Best Artist, Best Soul and R&B Release, Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Award and also Best Cover Art, which is centered around an artwork that Ngaiire painted.
Of the nominations Ngaiire shares – “Look I wasn’t expecting anything but FOUR!? Holy crap! I’m absolutely beside myself. Me and my team worked so hard on this release and this is already a win for us regardless if we bag a pointy thing or not. Wow!!!”
Speaking specifically about being nominated in the Best Artist category she shares – “Best Artist! Artist of the year??? WOT?!!! I can’t believe it. WOT?!!”
Ngaiire’s rescheduled Australian & New Zealand 3 album tour will now take place in January & February 2022, with her New Zealand leg being held in August 2022. The tour will see her bring her renowned live show to audiences in Sydney, Byron Bay, Canberra, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Auckland and Wellington.
