Originally recorded for Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show in London’s iconic Maida Vale, these stripped-back solo performances using a Steinway piano breathe new life into the tracks taken from her sophomore album Cyan Blue, released in May, highlighting Wilson’s captivating soulful vocals.
Working with producers Leon Thomas, and Jack Rochon on Cyan Blue, Charlotte Day Wilson crafts a smoothly woven cyan tapestry of her eternal influences – thumping gospel piano, warm soul basslines, atmospheric electronics, and penetrating R&B melodies – while also showcasing the next evolution of her time-bending songwriting.
