Robert Earl Thomas, guitarist of Brooklyn band Widowspeak, has just debuted his solo full-length, Another Age. To celebrate, he shares the new video for album track ‘Cryin’,’ in which delicate melancholy follows him from a winding, wooded road to a warmly lonesome hotel room. Watch below!
Another Age‘s sweet nostalgia and glowing guitar shines through each shot. Of the single he notes, “‘Cryin’ isn’t really about crying; or me. It’s about being there for someone you care about. Maybe it’s a little bit about coming home from a party and driving in the middle of the night, and Molly was upset about something I couldn’t really help her with. It was realizing I had to just be listening. In that spirit the song has only a few words I wrote all in one sitting on my friend’s porch in the Catskills. The video was shot in the same general region. The Volvo and the dog are mine and I think they caught an escaped convict at that motel.”
