Out Now: Telenova – Stained Glass Love (Telenoir Versions)

Australian trio Telenova cap off another landmark year by unveiling their late-night alter ego – Telenoir – a beats driven side project delivering a deeper, darker take on the band’s shadowy brand of alternative pop.  Telenoir has reworked the band’s lauded Stained Glass Love EP into a brand new project out today via Remote Control Records, reconstructing it with dark dance floors and smoky speakeasies as inspiration.

Modern trip-hop, breakbeat and classic boom-bap all feature on Telenoir’s versions of the EP with one thing in common with the original – Angeline Armstrong’s distinct vocals. On that element, Edward Quinn explains “Telenoir has become a platform to repurpose Telenova songs for a potentially darker world, treating Angeline’s voice as more of an instrument as opposed to a story-telling vessel.”
