This Is The Kit, the musical project which holds Paris-via-Bristol songwriter Kate Stables, share a new video to ‘Hotter Colder’, taken from their new album Moonshine Freeze. Watch below!
Video Director James Hankins explains how the video came about; “Kate was very keen on the video involving water and wanted quite a dark feel to it. Seeing as her and Rozi both love wild swimming we thought we’d go for a paddle in some lakes. Of course, on the day we decided to shoot the video there were terrible downpours which meant filming became really quite tricky…”
This changed the feel of the video which they embraced, battling on in the rain with a great little crew, including a drone pilot. It was a good laugh and a great collaborative effort as a whole. Their good friend Sam Wisternoff then created some underwater animation and washes.
Moonshine Freeze was produced by John Parish, days after coming off tour last November, Stables and her band (Rozi Plain, Jamie Whitby-Coles, Neil Smith and Jesse D Vernon) headed into Geoff Barrow’s Invada studios in Bristol. Aaron Dessner also features on six of the album tracks.
