Showing a depth of emotions in the album’s early singles, he continues to let us in with latest track ‘Back Then’, which he dedicates to his younger self. Notes to Self is an unabashedly romantic and brooding record, predominantly centring self-growth and happiness and gleaning wisdom from past mistakes. Sprinkling sobering moments of clarity into dance music was a meaningful choice for him, who cherished songs of a similar vein as a child.
