Listen: Julia Jacklin – ‘I Wish’

Julia Jacklin presents a second single from her upcoming album, The Gem (out 25 September). Following lead track ‘Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)’, ‘I Wish’ is written for her younger self – a practice that, four albums into her career, feels like a tradition. Like a fledgling bird about to flee its nest, she reflects, “I got through, yeah I’ll be fine / Still I wish someone at been there at the time.” ‘I Wish’ serves as The Gem’s swansong and features fellow Australians siblings Elsie and Maggie Rigby of The Maes.

The Gem was produced by Jacklin and Robert Muinos and recorded entirely in Melbourne. The 10-track album will be released digitally and on CD, cassette and vinyl on 25 September worldwide.
