Hackney rapper, poet and producer John Glacier is, at this point, one of London’s most diverse musical voices. Traversing rap, electronic music, post-punk, ambient and much more, her 2025 debut album Like A Ribbon defined Glacier as an artist within her own lane; a lane where she has the freedom to experiment creatively through her singular, almost stream-of-consciousness delivery.
The album has since catapulted Glacier into a new stratosphere, both within music and beyond. Over the past year, she has covered i-D Magazine, HommeGirls and Hypebeast, made her British Vogue debut, starred in Prada’s Spring/Summer 2026 global campaign alongside Hunter Schafer, Damson Idris, Carey Mulligan, Nicholas Hoult. Her growing status as a fashion icon has been cemented through collaborations and appearances with leading houses, including Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Lacoste, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, JW Anderson, and Fendi.
She has also continued to appear in unexpected places through collaborations with artists across genres, including Blondshell (‘T&A’), MJ Cole (‘Move Time’), Montell Fish and dj gummy bear (‘Ostentatious’), Jadasea (‘Lemon Cherry’), and Jamie xx (‘Dafodil’). Together, these achievements have further established Glacier as a rare multidisciplinary talent whose influence spans music, fashion, and contemporary culture alike.
July of this year brought around her first new single since Like A Ribbon, ‘Bond Girl’ – a track that found Glacier expanding her sonic palette further into club inspired sounds thanks to a Detroit techno inspired instrumental co-produced by Take A Daytrip (Lil Nas X/Travis Scott/Kid Cudi/Dua Lipa) and John herself. Glacier follows up that single with ‘Lights’ – a brand new track and a fresh facet of an intriguing new world being built before our eyes.
Probably the most upfront and accessible moment of Glacier’s career to date, ‘Lights’ glistens with the same radiance as its namesake, with the track’s Kwes Darko produced instrumental providing the perfect backdrop for John to muse on a life in front of the cameras. The track’s winding synths, grandiose bells and skittering production form the picture of a song that’s enticingly contemporary yet not without left-field flourishes, with John producing arguably the most immediate songwriting within her current discography. A track that explores the “always on” culture of being in the spotlight, ‘Lights’ continues to position Glacier as a master of narrative; an artist who can lead the listener through some of life’s most extraordinary experiences by making them seem everyday, and vice versa.
With ‘Lights’, John Glacier provides another strain of her ever-evolving musical DNA. An artist that can provide music for the clubs, headphones, radio and more within the space of one project – her chameleonic approach to creativity has revealed itself to be just as multifaceted as the range of mediums with which she creates within.
