JAZZPARTY release ‘Hearts Gonna Leave’

Late nights, sweaty bodies, blue smoke and beer-fuelled dance freak-outs over a gravely wailing saxophone – think New Orleans processionals meets Twin Peaks. Another crazy year and JAZZPARTY are here on the ropes with you, putting out a new song for all the lovers and haters of jazz.

Today, the Melbourne cult party outfit share ‘Hearts Gonna Leave’, the catchy third single from their forthcoming album Nobobody Gets Away, due Friday 23 July via Remote Control Records‘Hearts Gonna Leave’ is a soupy minor JP blues banger that feels like Glam Rock meets Howling Wolf, with a brilliant horn breakdown arranged by Lachlan Mitchel. It starts with a little musing from the backing vocals and quickly launches into a hypnotic groove that Loretta Miller’s vocals ride over with beautiful dynamics, ranging from a gospel shout to a husky whisper.

Of the single, the band shares:

“The heart doesn’t ask questions.
The heart cares about little things more than the big picture.
A glance, an awkward silence, a badly made coffee. These are the things that matter to the heart because little things are our life.
The heart doesn’t negotiate.
The Egyptians believed in seven souls, the fourth of which was the Heart, or Ba, believed to be treacherous. It is symbolised as an eagles body with a human face.
Many a hero has been brought down by a deceitful Ba. “Stream / Download: jazzparty.lnk.to/heartsgonnaleave
