Off the back of their Australian Music Prize nominated album Rotsler’s Rules, Black Cab today reveal a reworking of their single ‘Superheroes’ by German producer-on-the-rise SHAN. The title-track from the band’s album has also just been nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the Music Victoria Awards. The remix arrives alongside news of Black Cab’s December resident shows at Colour Club in Melbourne.
Based near Frankfurt, SHAN is perhaps best known for his work with Gerd Janson’s Running Back imprint on which he has released a string of EP’s. He has worked closely with Tuff City Kids and has further released compositions on the likes of Beats In Space, Edhid and The Healing Company.
Black Cab first worked with Gerd Janson’s Frankfurt based label Running Back when they asked Philip Lauer to remix their single ‘Take It’ back in 2019 with stunning results. This time around SHAN has created a two track EP that combines Motorik beats with electronic house sequences, stabs and bass lines, taking the original track to new places and new dance floors.
