This October marks the one-year anniversary of Sampha’s globally lauded, Ivor Novello and AIM-nominated 2023 album LAHAI. To celebrate, Sampha announces a deluxe version of the album, with three new singles out now on streaming services: ‘Dancing Circles 2.0,’ ‘Re Entry’ and ‘Sensory Nectar’ plus the previously released single ‘Satellite Business 2.0’ featuring Little Simz.
‘Dancing Circles 2.0’ is a reimagination of the fan-favourite track, which Sampha performed during his 2023 Tiny Desk performance. ‘Re Entry’ and ‘Sensory Nectar’ were until now only available as physical-only bonus tracks, and are songs taken from the original LAHAI sessions. ‘Dancing Circles 2.0’ and ‘Satellite Business 2.0’ were reimaginings of the studio recorded album tracks born out of the live Satellite Business residency shows held in London, New York City and Los Angeles in 2023.
Sampha’s second album LAHAI was released on October 20, 2023. Taken from his paternal grandfather’s name, which is also Sampha’s middle name, LAHAI revels in the awe and magic of our existence, synthesising the exquisite chaos that one experiences confronting the cycle of life and the beyondness. LAHAI is a communal affair seeing Sampha explore the many ways in which we as humans connect to each other, and to something bigger than ourselves.
