Living Hour return with their latest single ‘Best I Did It’, a cathartic blend of raw lyricism and distorted, shoegaze-infused alt-rock. It’s the third preview of their upcoming fourth album Internal Drone Infinity out October 17.

Lead singer and lyricist Sam Sarty describes the song as an unflinching confrontation with depression, dissociation, and anxiety. “This song is about confronting intensely grey feelings,” Sarty shares. “In Winnipeg, during the winter and spring, the whole city is covered in a thick grey sky, and a lot of the lyrics are built around that landscape.”

The track opens with the chilling line, “performance posthumous display, of some grizzly bits of pigeon on the side of the highway,” inspired by the monochrome bleakness of mental illness. “I imagine a pigeon on the highway, completely blending into its surroundings,” Sarty explains. “That’s how my anxiety feels—so present and overwhelming, yet invisible to everyone else.”

Despite its heavy themes, the song ultimately carries a message of resilience. “The chorus is a hopeful message to myself,” Sarty says. “I imagine looking back in 10 years and saying: I did the best I could. I’m doing the best I can.”

Living Hour—Sam Sarty, Gil Carroll, Adam Soloway, Brett Ticzon, and Isaac Tate—have crafted a compelling sonic world on Internal Drone Infinity, marked by icy vocals, grainy textures, warm twang, screeching distortion, and immersive percussion.

With Internal Drone Infinity, Living Hour expand their dreamy sound with commanding clarity—channeling quiet strength, emotional reckoning, and simmering rage into one of their most powerful statements yet.
