Oliver Sim releases his brand new single ‘Telephone Games’, out now. Teaming up once again with producer Bullion, the track is a graceful electro-pop confessional that further builds out a bold new era of experimentation and collaboration for the London-based artist best known as one third of The xx.

The release is accompanied by a stylish chat line-inspired music video directed by acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Sharna Osborne, who worked with Sim on previous single ‘Obsession’. Teased via mysterious calling cards placed in phone boxes across London, the video perfectly captures the mood of the song: at once playful, chic and knowingly irreverent.

‘Telephone Games’ follows the success of ‘Obsession’, Sim’s first new music since his acclaimed 2022 debut solo album Hideous Bastard. Notably, ‘Obsession’ also marked Sim’s first release not produced by his longtime collaborator and bandmate Jamie xx, instead co-produced by Bullion and Taylor Skye. The bond within The xx remains as close as ever however: the trio are currently working on their highly anticipated fourth album, recently appeared together at Milan Fashion Week, and reunited on stage over the summer at Jamie’s LIDO Festival in London.

Meanwhile, Oliver recently collaborated with SG Lewis on ‘Baby Blue’, a standout track and single from Lewis’ lauded Anemoia album and co-hosted a one-off NTS takeover show with Bullion. Beyond music, Sim continues to expand his creative world. Recently, he was invited by Jonathan Anderson to star in the rebooted JW Anderson ‘Resort’ lookbook, appearing alongside Saltburn actress Alison Oliver, director Luca Guadagnino, actors Joe Alwyn and Ben Whishaw, stylist Danielle Goldberg, fashion designer Bella Freud, and photographer Gray Sorrenti.
