Spoon’s new album Hot Thoughts is out today! Produced by Spoon and Dave Fridmann, they’ve created the bravest, most sonically inventive work of their career.
Last week, Spoon announced two in-store appearances ahead of their Sydney and Melbourne shows at The Metro Theatre and The Croxton Bandroom next week. More details below.
“I love going down to Australia, but it seems we’re never able to stay for long, so I rented a house in Collingwood outside Melbourne for three weeks. That’s where most of the songs on the new record got their start. I brought a bunch of unfinished songs with me. When I got down there, I was more excited about coming up with all new stuff. I’m not sure if it’s just the AC/DC connection or what. Australia just seems like this other world. It’s like this weird combination of Texas and England.” – Britt Daniel, American Way Magazine, March 2017.
Spoon recently performed ‘Hot Thoughts’ on Jimmy Kimmel and ‘I Ain’t The One’ on The Late Show with James Corden. The band have just finished up a three day residency at SXSW taking over The Main and now they’re headed to Aus… We can’t wait!
